Hi, I'm Alise Koa.
I was born on Hawaii and raised in Germany.

I'm a proud wife, songwriter and oldest sister to three younger siblings.
I love my family very much!

My guilty pleasure is Sudoku and I'm a dog person.
#Sorry, not sorry.

I prefer the hard copy over the electronic or downloadable version almost every time. So yes, I still buy CD's, DVD's & books.

I don't take myself or life too seriously. I love to laugh!

You can find out more about my journey in the "about me" section here

The first lesson I learned from my guitar teacher!

Before we even picked up our guitars he told me a story:

"One day there was an older man walking through the woods. It was his usual route. The forrest gave him peace and quiet he needed desperately after a long hard day of work. But this time it was latter then usual. It was starting to get dark.

As he was strolling through the forrest, lost in his thoughts,
but a scream for help brought him back to reality.
He was surprised, because this wasn't a well known path.
Most of the time he was the only one! Once again he heard a scream for help.

The older man started to follow the desperate sounding voice. Once again he heard:
"Help! Help! Can anyone hear me?"
Now the older man started to run towards the sound.

Once he got there he was in shock. There was a pit and a man had fallen inside it. He was full of mud and out of breach when he said this:

"Oh thank gunnes! I've been trying to get out of here since this morning!
I've tried EVERYTHING, but there is no way I can make it on my own.
The pit is just too deep!
So I've been screaming for help and you were the first one to find me.
Can you please get me out of here? "

The older man said:
"Sure, no problem! But under one condition.
The next time you see someone with the same problem you are in right now
you'll help him/her out too. Can you do that?"

"Sure thing", the man replied and the older man helped him get out of the pit and both were able to go home to their families.
I was once in that pit you're in right now.
I know what it feels like to try everything
in your power to get out of there.
But sometimes you just need help!

I'm where I am now, because someone
has helped me out of there.
And not just once!
Some of them aren't that deep and
you can get out of them on your own.
But others are so deep, there is no way
you can do it on your own!

The strength is too admit when you need help.
It'll save you time, money and energy.

Because others have helped me, I'm able to help you!
I've promised that if I see anyone with the same problem I was in, I'd help them out.
